The development of the African continent in all its spheres must be the top priority of the private sector as governments alone cannot meet the development needs of the continent.

“We cannot leave everything to the governments; we must do our part, while they also do their part, Dr. Ashimizo Afadameh-Adeyemi, the Executive Chairman of Ashfar Group, has said.

Dr. Afadameh-Adeyemi, said this in an interview with the Ghana News Agency after the Ashfar Limited had commissioned a solar system and ancillary facility for the Kangba Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) at Kangba in the Wa West District.

The company installed about 2kwt solar system with backup batteries, two three-crank lying-in hospital beds, a delivery bed, and a solar freezer while it also renovated a delivery room at an estimated cost of GHS 150,000.00.

The Ashfar Ltd, a renewable energy company, was currently operating in six African countries, namely Ghana, Democratic Republic of Congo, Nigeria, Mali, Zambia, and Uganda, providing access to renewable energy in rural communities.

The Executive Chairman indicated that Ashfar Ltd was “Empowering Nations” through the provision of renewable energy supply to help facilitate the development of the continent.

“Our business module is not just tied around maximizing profit, but also supporting projects that have social impact. So, the most important thing is to help sustain development within the African continent,” Dr. Afadameh-Adeyemi said.

He explained that the company, through its foundation, was supporting projects that had multiplier effects on the lives of the vulnerable groups through improving access to renewable energy, clean water and reducing mortality rate.

Madam Faridah Afadameh, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ashfar Ltd, noted that the services provided by the company was contributing towards attaining the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to help create a better world for life to thrive.

She said the Kangba community project was the premier intervention in Ghana, but that they were looking forward to scouting for more needy communities in the country to support.
