Amazon CEO Andy Jassy announced that Doug Herrington will become the new CEO of the Worldwide Amazon Stores business.

Herrington has been at Amazon for 17 years, joining in 2005 to build out the consumables business, launched Amazon Fresh in 2007, and in 2015, took on leading all North American Consumer business.

As part of this organizational change, the operations organization will be united under a single leader, John Felton, who has been at Amazon for nearly 18 years, spending 12 years in retail and operations finance leadership roles. In 2018, he moved to Worldwide Operations to become the vice president of global customer fulfillment, and in 2019, took over the newly formed Global Delivery Services group, encompassing global import-export, Amazon Logistics and last-mile delivery services.

Felton will report to Herrington, as will Russ Grandinetti (international stores), Christine Beauchamp (North America stores), Tony Hoggett (physical stores), Dave Treadwell (e-commerce foundation), Neil Lindsay (pharmacy/AmazonCare/healthcare), Dharmesh Mehta (selling partner services), Peter Larsen (Buy with Prime) and Pat Bajari (chief economist), Jassy said.

Walmart Canada announce two senior executive leadership changes, with AnnMarie Mercer named chief people officer and Rob Nicol, vice president of communications and corporate affairs, was appointed to the Canadian leadership team, as was Mercer.

She will lead human resources for one of Canada’s largest employers with over 100,000 associates supporting more than 400 stores, distribution centers and fleet hubs nationwide and a growing e-commerce business. Mercer joined Walmart Canada in 2015.

Nicol oversees environmental social governance, government affairs, corporate events, translation, and internal and external communications. He joined Walmart Canada in 2017.

Citi Trends Inc. appointed Heather Plutino as chief financial officer.

Plutino joins Citi Trends after serving as senior vice president of enterprise financial planning and analysis and commercial finance at Bed Bath & Beyond. Citi Trends is a specialty value retailer of apparel, accessories and home trends primarily for African American and Latinx families in the United States. The company operates 615 stores in 33 states.

Ralph Lauren Corporation announced that Deb Cupp, president of Microsoft North America, was nominated as a director for election at the company’s 2022 annual meeting of stockholders to be held on Aug. 4.

The company also announced that Judith McHale, who has served on the board since 2001, will not stand for reelection after her term, which is set to expire in August.

Cupp was named president of Microsoft North America this year. She has been with Microsoft since 2018.

Malouf Home named four new territory sales managers to support the company’s growing network of retail partners.

Newly appointed managers are Mark Sigler, Midwest Central Territory; Dani Richards, West Territory; Jeff Struthers, New England Territory, and Richard Buys, Northwest Territory.

Sigler has worked at Malouf for over eight years and his previous roles include accounts receivable specialist, and most recently, inbound sales representative. Prior to promotion, Richards was the social media and communications manager at Malouf.

During his eight years at Malouf, Struthers worked in customer experience, order fulfillment and sales operations as manager of the East District. Buys previously worked in order fulfillment and also served as sales operations manager for the Central District.

Territory managers help facilitate the strategic growth and initiatives of retail partners in their area, coordinating with their account managers and outside sales reps to assist accounts with operations, product sales, product training and marketing materials.

Malouf Home’s selection of innovative products includes furniture, mattresses, adjustable bed bases, pillows, sheets, mattress protectors, bed frames and mattress toppers. Together with sister brands Salt Flat and Weekender, Malouf products are available in over 16,000 retail partner locations in the U.S., and its international team now serves 56 countries.

Careismatic Brands, a manufacturer of medical apparel, appointed Girisha Chandraraj as CEO.

Prior to joining Careismatic Brands, Chandraraj served as president and CEO of Elite Sportswear. He is also a co-founder of predictive regulatory software company RegVoyance.

Careismatic Brandsh has a distribution footprint in more than 70 countries, and a deep portfolio of top-selling medical apparel, footwear and accessories brands, including Cherokee Uniforms, Dickies Medical, Heartsoul, Infinity by Cherokee, ScrubStar, Tooniforms, Healing Hands, and Anywear. Careismatic Brands is also a manufacturer and distributor of school uniforms by Classroom, adaptive clothing by Silverts, medical instruments and accessories.

Unifi inc. announced that the company’s general counsel and corporate secretary, Greg Sigmon, was named an executive officer of Unifi by the board of directors, effective July 4.

Additionally, the company will transition leadership of UdB, its subsidiary in Brazil. Mauro Fernandes, director of sales for UdB, will be appointed president of UdB and take over full responsibilities from Lucas de Carvalho Rocha, UdB’s current president, effective as of Rocha’s retirement on July 31.

The company also announced the retirement of Jim Kilts as a non-executive member of its board, effective July 3. Accordingly, Unifi has reduced its board’s size to eight members.

Unifi is a global textile solutions provider and one of the world’s leading innovators in manufacturing synthetic and recycled performance fibers. Through Repreve branded recycled performance fibers, Unifi has transformed more than 30 billion plastic bottles into recycled fiber for new apparel, footwear, home goods and other consumer products.

Schoeller Textil AG, a textile solutions brand dedicated to innovating technical fabrics and smart textile finishing technologies, announced that Mark Pikaart joined its North America team as the Western regional sales manager.

Pikaart, based in Southern California, spent the last seven years at Deckers Brands, where he served as product line manager for the Teva and UGG brands. He will work closely with Schoeller Textil USA president Stephen Kerns, who is based in the Schoeller North America headquarters in Newburyport, Mass.

David S. Johanson became chair of the U.S. International Trade Commission (USITC).

He succeeded outgoing chair Jason E. Kearns, whose term expired on June 16. Johanson, the senior Republican on the Commission, became chair by operation of law in the absence of a presidential designation.

Johanson was nominated to the USITC by President Barack Obama on April 8, 2011, and confirmed by the U.S. Senate on Oct. 31, 2011. He served as chair of the USITC from June 17, 2018, to June 16, 2020, and vice chair from Aug. 11, 2016, to June 16, 2018.

The USITC is an independent, nonpartisan, quasi-judicial federal agency that makes determinations in proceedings involving imports claimed to injure a domestic industry or violate U.S. intellectual property rights; provides independent tariff, trade and competitiveness-related analysis and information to the legislative and executive branches of government; and maintains the U.S. tariff schedule. Commissioners are appointed by the president and confirmed by the Senate for nine-year terms.

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) announced that Pegasus Airlines vice chairperson Mehmet Tevfik Nane assumed his duties as chair of the IATA board of governors (BoG) for a one-year term.

Nane is the 80th chair of the IATA BoG. He has served on the BoG since 2019 and succeeds JetBlue Airways CEO Robin Hayes, who will continue to serve on the BoG.

Nane was appointed CEO of Pegasus Airlines in 2016, a position he held until earlier this year, when he assumed his current position with the airline.

IATA also announced that RwandAir CEO Yvonne Manzi Makolo will serve as chair of the BoG from June 2023, following Nane’s term. Makolo will be the first woman to take on these duties.

FedEx Corp. promoted Brie Carere, chief marketing and communications officer, to be the company’s first chief customer officer.

She also was named co-president and co-CEO of FedEx Services, a role she will share with Rob Carter, executive vice president and chief information officer.

As chief customer officer, Carere will bring the strategy, sales, product development, digital experience, marketing, communications, customer experience, revenue management and FedEx Office retail teams under one function. This new alignment will support a strategy that focuses on a complete end-to-end customer experience with an emphasis on digital innovation.

As co-president and co-CEO of FedEx Services, Carere will work with Carter in leading the division that provides strategic and technological support to the FedEx operating companies.

Rokt, a specialist in e-commerce technology using machine learning to make transactions more relevant to each shopper, named Bill Barton as chief product and engineering officer, effective June 27.

In this newly created role, Barton will report directly to CEO Bruce Buchanan and will lead the company’s R&D organization. Barton most recently served as vice president, Alexa Proactive Experience, at Amazon, where he spent the last 10 years building and leading teams that developed Alexa’s spoken language understanding and knowledge capabilities.

Founded in Australia, with U.S. headquarters in New York City, the company now operates in 19 countries across North America, Europe and the Asia-Pacific region.

ShipBob, the global omni-fulfillment platform, appointed Kamal Sundar as senior vice president of supply chain strategy.

Most recently at Amazon, Sundat led a global organization that utilized near real-time customer data to drive supply chain improvements. Prior to this, Kamal led the development of supply chain capabilities to enable business-to-business growth on the Amazon platform.

Kamal joins ShipBob at a time of unprecedented growth, with a valuation of more than $1 billion, while celebrating its eighth year in business. The company operates a global logistics network with 30 fulfillment centers across the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, European Union and Australia.

The ShipBob platform provides merchants with a single view of their business and customers across all of their sales channels, and enables them to manage products, inventory, orders and shipments, and leverage analytics and reporting to run their business effectively.
